PPA uses Twitter accounts to tweet for poker

Tweet for Poker is an easy way poker players can take a political stance on the current debate: Interested in helping to get poker legalized? The Poker Players Alliance, otherwise known as the PPA, is giving players a voice to speak out by launching another creative effort to get the word out. It’s all in the name of legitimizing Poker with its Tweet for Poker initiative.
Go to Tweet for Poker to find a US map with all the major cities and towns marked as to who and where active participants are. Players will also be able to tweet for poker on their Twitter accounts and once they do, a spade marker will be added and appear from wherever participants are located on the US map. After players click on the banner to tweet for poker, there will be a choice to either send a petition to either House or Congress: Simply enter a US address and zip code. Tweeters will then be directed to the Twitter homepage in which to sign in and then the legislator information will be pre-filled and then all players have to do is click “send.”
For those who don’t know much about the PPA, it currently has more than one million members throughout the US. During National Poker Week, the group received more than 375,000 signatures on a petition to President Obama asking for licensing and regulation of online poker. An additional 200,000 letters and emails were sent to Congress and if tweeters keep tweeting on the lines, it’s only a matter of time until poker players can spread their royal flushes unabashed!
